Concept development is an early phase of the design process that all businesses in all markets undertake when venturing into something new.
Designers of creative media and services like Vivid Creative can dramatically improve our work and outcomes by generating more concepts in association with our clients early in our projects.
Concepts that explore far-ranging design ideas will put your business at the forefront of its competitors. Immediate technical and situational constraints may limit a current solution but the solution can still be heading towards what lies ahead for your business.
Time spent on concept development and design might add time up front, but it removes the need to correct mistakes later on.
Concept Development Process
In an ideal world everything is free, but it isn't, so depending on the project certain parts of concept development are omitted.
You know your own business and market better than anyone else. Firstly we will collate all pertinent information, intentions and dreams associated with the project.
To assist us in this process, complete the project checklist form.
So we are on the same page and working towards a common goal, Vivid Creative will assemble a return brief that confirms our common direction. The brief sets the intentions of the project for the following phases of the design process.
Emerging Concepts are created in association with technical research, the purpose is to evaluate the appropriate and possible success of a project within its market. They unravel the opportunities and trade-off's of a new technology or market, and facilitate the project’s resulting direction.
This step is typically only undertaken by online businesses or applications.
Vision Concepts - aka Mockup's - encompass the project’s strategic and visual intention. In plain terms what your project could look like.
The Behavioral Concept takes the selected Visual Concept and suggests how the end user may interact with it. For example, one part may entail how a websites navigation works and whether the end users location can affect the functionality of the website. Print media has to have the same considerations as it's tangible and people interact with your wares.
